A Date & a New Desk

I am so excited to have a new desk at work!! I needed one so bad and I finally got one. I talked to Grandma about using some of the memorial money given to the church from when Grandpa passed away. She said to go ahead with it, so I did. So know I have an amazing new desk and I every time I go to work I can a daily reminder about how special Grandpa was to us. I also got great news that I will be getting a new computer also. The things that excite old people!

Jon and I got to go out on a date this past Saturday night! WOW! We went to the County Market Christmas Party while super Aunt Tracey watched the kids for us. It was a great time and we had lots of fun dancing. It is always a little different because it seems as if everyone is either older than us or in high school. But I did get to take the centerpiece home - even though I didn't win it. Although, I was at a table with Jon, Bill R. & Tom G. None of them wanted it I guess. And I think that I need to have Tracey babysit more often. Are you sitting down? Because the kids ASKED to go to bed at about 8pm. They actually shut off their movie and told Tracey they were tired and asked if they could go to bed. WHAT!!!!!????? MY KIDS???!!! Tracey must have a special touch. Thanks Tracey!

Angel Food Cake

We made an angel food cake this weekend at our house. And this blog post shows the traditional way to eat an angel food cake in a house that has Poyda blood in it. It drives Jon crazy. But we learned it from Dad, and my kids carry on the tradition. See above a perfectly innocent, cooling angel food cake.

But every time you walk past, you have to reach under and grab a little piece to eat. But just a little one so that nobody will notice it was gone. And as Hannah says, the crunchy pieces are the best ones. Or you can take Hannah's approach and just stand guard of the cake for yourself.

Eventuall you just flip it over and eat right out of the top of it. As a side note- you might notice that Hannah is wearing her pink tutu that she got for Christmas in 2007. It is a 2T. And I wanted to post a picture of what her little back end looks like since it is so small - but I didn't feel that it was appropriate for the internet. But it is her favorite thing to wear around the house atleast 2 days a week.

This is the end result when you finally take the cake out of the pan. There is not much left.

Here is a side view. But it is so goooood!!! We then just finished off the cake like we started it. I think Hannah almost half - if not more. Thanks Dad for the great tradition! There is no better way to eat this cake!

The Snowshoe Race & Kids

This weekend the kids participated in the Perkinstown Snowshoe Race. Chloe & I stayed with Jon's mom while Jon took them out there. They both did really good. They both got medals for finishing and had a great time. They love snow shoeing.

Here are the kids are with Matt, Nick, Taylor & Alex. I think that they all ran the race and Matt placed pretty high, I think.

For everyone that thinks Hannah is a sweet little angel...This is what Hannah looked like after eating some pudding on Sunday. What makes a person decide to do this? Afterwards she cried because her face was itchy. I can't imagine why.

This is what happens when your kids are outside playing and they are messing with the outdoor faucet without you knowing it. It makes a huge icicle. It is actually kind of cool, but they still got in trouble. We are not exactly sure when they did it either.

No School Days

School has been canceled this week on Thursday and Friday due to the extremely cold temperatures. So we've had to entertain ourselves for a couple of days locked in the house. It's been fun. Here is Chloe partying with a wig. With that Packer outfit she could be a boy.

How about we punch each other to our aggression out. Both of those fighting hand sets were Christmas presents for Tyler. One from Mark & Colleen last year and one from Dale & Jean this year. It's awesome to now have two sets because instead of fighting over one pair, they just hit each other instead. And who wears shirts when it is -25? Not my kids!

It's a must to put each other in a sleeping bag and whip each other around the kitchen floor. Hannah loved it.

Tyler cried. Although Hannah was trying to drag him over to the steps to shove him down. Do you see Jon standing over by the window? He was watching for his ride because he left to go to a Minnesota Wild hockey game. Is it Monday yet? Please let there be school!!!

I WILL CRAWL!

I think that I will learn to crawl! Let's see, lean forward first.

Then lean as far as I possibly can. Look at that foot under that belly! HOW DOES ONE DO THAT?!?!? And check out the cute rolls on the other leg!

Alright, the leg is out from under me. Now what?

I'm too tired. I'll just fall down and lay here for awhile.

Chloe is so close to crawling! She is starting to almost army crawl too. I can't believe she is that big already! Time to get the gates on the stairs Daddy!

Rearrange

After we took our Christmas tree down we decided to rearrange the living room. It is very open now. I'm not sure how I feel about it. The room feels bigger, but all of the furniture is so bunched together. And my pictures on the wall are crooked. I was trying to rehang them, and the kids were crazy so I just threw them up there for now. Don't mind the baby in the middle of the floor! :)

There is just another view from the other side.

Happy New Year!

We had a Rockin' New Year's Eve Party at our house. It was great fun. The kids stayed up late (9pm) and ate Mozarella Sticks. Jon did have to work until 10pm, but it was still fun. Here are Tabby & Hannah playing Pretty, Pretty Princess. As little girls, we used to love that game, so I was thrilled to be able to buy it for Hannah for Christmas.

Here we are at midnight. Notice our lovely pajama pants. It wouldn't be any fun if we had to wear real clothes. Comfort is the most important thing! The dog on Tabby's lap is not real. His name is Lucky and he does fun tricks. I think that the kids' favorite trick is when he starts to fart and says, "Oh,Oh". Thanks Grandpa & Grandma Poyda for the fun dog!

Here are Joni & Tyler playing a mean game of Guess Who. Tyler has gotten pretty good at the game. He beat Joni for real.

Here is Jon shocked that we were not sleeping when he got home at 10:15pm. We were just as surprised ourselves. Years past have proved that we can't make it much past 10:30 or 11. But this year we made it!

Here is our fun, party picture. We missed you Tracey K! It just isn't a party without you!
